Tuscan Lemon Herb Focaccia
Share
In Italy, bread is more than food, it’s a way of bringing people together. This focaccia captures that spirit, baked golden and topped with lemon slices, fresh herbs, and the layered flavor of Borsari Tuscan Rosemary Sage and Borsari Citrus Seasoning. The Tuscan blend grounds the bread with rustic herbal depth, while the Citrus seasoning lifts each bite with a bright, zesty finish. Serve warm with a drizzle of Borsari Olive Oil, and you’ll have a centerpiece that feels like it came straight from a countryside table in Tuscany.

Cook Time: 25 mins
Servings: 8 - 10
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 1/4 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tsp honey or sugar
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup Borsari Olive Oil, plus more for drizzling
- 1 tbsp Borsari Tuscan Rosemary Sage Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Borsari Citrus Seasoning
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced into rounds
- Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, 2 tbsp Borsari Olive Oil, Tuscan Rosemary Sage Seasoning, Citrus Seasoning, and salt. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 9x13-inch pan with Borsari Olive Oil.
- Press dough into the pan, dimple the surface with your fingertips, and drizzle with more olive oil. Top with lemon slices and rosemary sprigs.
- Sprinkle lightly with an extra pinch of both Borsari seasonings.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
Pro Tips
- Extra citrus: Zest half the lemon into the dough before baking for even more brightness.
- Meal pairing: Serve alongside roasted chicken or a fresh salad for a full Tuscan-inspired spread.
- Storage: Keeps up to 3 days at room temp; reheat slices in the oven for best texture.
