This quick and comforting gnocchi dish uses store-bought gnocchi and a rich, creamy tomato sauce for a meal that tastes homemade in minutes. Finished with fresh basil and seasoned perfectly with Borsari Original Seasoning, it’s a weeknight dinner favorite the whole family will love.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 package (16 oz) store-bought gnocchi
  • 2 Tbsp Borsari Olive Oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Borsari Original Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the gnocchi: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook gnocchi according to package directions until they float to the surface. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the sauce: In a large skillet, heat Borsari Olive Oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Build the flavor: Stir in crushed tomatoes, cream, Borsari Original Seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes to thicken slightly.
  4. Add the gnocchi: Toss cooked gnocchi into the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh basil leaves and extra Parmesan if desired.

Pro Tips

  • Pan-fry the gnocchi in a little olive oil before adding to the sauce for a crispy outside and tender inside.
  • Make it a heartier dish by adding sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or Italian sausage.
  • For a lighter version, swap the cream with whole milk or use a tomato-only sauce.
