Ingredients
- 1 Prime Rib Roast (about 6 to 7 lbs)
- 3 tbsp Borsari Olive Oil
- 3to 4 tsp Borsari Original Seasoning
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Remove the prime rib from the refrigerator at least 1 hour before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Pat roast dry with paper towels. Rub all over with Borsari Olive Oil, then season generously with Borsari Seasoning and freshly ground black pepper.
- Place roast on a rack in a roasting pan, fat side up. Roast at 450°F for 15 minutes to develop a crust.
- Reduce oven temperature to 325°F and continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 135°F for medium-rare (about 15 minutes per pound).
- Remove from oven and let rest 20 to 30 minutes before carving.
- Slice and serve with pan drippings or au jus, if desired.
Pro Tips
- Use a meat thermometer - medium-rare is ideal at 135°F.
- Let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes before carving to keep juices locked in.
- For extra flavor, season the prime rib with Borsari the night before and refrigerate uncovered.
- Save the pan drippings to make a rich au jus or gravy.
